Omaha Hands, Part Deux

I'm getting in some casino poker, maybe 5-6 hours, during the day tomorrow at the Winstar in OK...first time since I was in Vegas last September. That's waaay too long. I've gotta make up my mind about whether it's going to be NLHE or PLO. I'm probably too crappy to be considering higher stakes PLO...I can't even stay afloat at .10-.25 on FTP. But that Omaha's a tempting little lady. I'll probably try to split my time between PLO and NLHE, but we'll see.

I've got a few more Omaha hands, that mostly drive on a single point, and a single situation, that comes up very frequently in PLO. Feedback is appreciated.

so on any of them even when you hit -- straight or flush -- you may not have nuts unless that particular nut card hits. On all if you hit your card for 2nd nuts are you calling pot on river? if you can do that then call on your draws. this is a game of draws

I don't like the odds on any of the hands.......I think you need more outs on all 3 hands to continue playing

i'd be most likely to call #2 - if you hit the str8 you'll win. Probably fold #3, you can hit the FD and still lose. Also probably fold #1, you can hit and still lose. All depend how I'm running too. Maybe 20% likely to call #1 and 3, 60% for #2.

H1: You only have 4 outs to the nuts. Even if you hit trips or two pair on river, you can't feel too confident about it. Easy fold.

H2: I think I call here. The turn gave you 4 additional nut straight outs, but also took away 3 spade outs. You still have 10 outs to the nuts, and if you hit it, EvilCon might feel like he's too invested and has to call anyway. Also, given the way that Evilcon potted pre-flop, on the flop, and on the turn, it sure smells like Aces or Kings. Which means you might have a ton of additional outs for two pair.

H3: I'm putting tovrov on a set of Jacks here. If so, then you have 14 outs to have the winning hand, assuming he doesn't have something like K-10 as his backup if you hit your set of Queens. Let's assume you have 14 outs, which gives you a 32% chance to win on river. As the 68/32 dog, you need to be getting 2.13:1 on your money. To call his all-in of 13.75, you are getting 2.18:1 on your money. The math (and read) says to make the call. Note that if he has a set of Aces instead of a set of Jacks, then now you're NOT getting the right return on your money to make the call. But I'm assuming not Aces because he didn't re-pot you pre-flop.

Hef, I'm not sure I agree with how you are counting outs in H3. First, we definitely know we are behind when we get repotted on the flop. Two pair is the bare minimum, but it could easily be a set or a monster draw (wraparound and/or FD).

You count 14 outs, but that's overly optimistic. Let's assume our FD is good. That gives us 9 outs. But the 3 or 9 pairs the board, so we can't necessarily count those. It's not assured that a paired board makes our opponent a boat, so let's only subtract one out. That gives us 8. Now, we can count the 4 Ks as outs, but the Ks might make a flush for our opponent, and there's no assurance our opponent isn't drawing to the nut straight as well. So I think we should only count 3 here too. That gives us 11. I don't see any way to get to 14. Having 11 instead of 14 probably makes this a fold. Not that I was disciplined enough to lay it down. :(
