Omaha: Beats and Questions

Pillow is an addictive game, but it is killing me, and my bankroll. And as you will notice, I'm playing at the lowest possible stakes on FTP. So yeah, it takes quite a bit of bad play and bad running to pull off the Omaha hit I've taken recently. As for the bad running, we'll get that out of the way first. If you aren't in the mood for bad beats, go ahead and scroll down to get to the Omaha strategy quiz hands. I have so many Omaha hands to ask questions about that I'm going to break it up...part today, part tomorrow.

Here are the beats. A brother's gotta purge, and I'm sure some of you will get some sick pleasure out of this...

Ok, glad that's over. I'm purged, until the next bad beat run. And I will have you know, in the interest of fairness, that there do not exist 3 other hands that show me sucking out in equal fashion to balance out these beats. They didn't happen.

H1: The one person behind you was the pre-flop raiser, so it's quite possible he has QQ. Your decision comes down to how risk averse are you? If rst1 checks behind you, then you look extremely passive for not betting the 2nd nuts on the river and other players will take advantage of this later. If he happens to have 2nd nuts, then you just got coolered. I say go ahead and pot it.

H2: I like the smooth call on the flop, but there's also a decent argument for re-potting it there, because like you said, you do have 13 outs to the nuts. However, after the turn put 2 diamonds on the board, now you only have 9 outs to the nuts. You should probably go ahead and fold. If the turn had been the 3s, then you happily get all of your money into the pot.

H3: Pot and re-pot and you only have 2 pair with no real re-draw? EASY fold.

Hand 1: you have best hand - pot it
Hand 2: you are 20-30% to hit your draw, diamonds could be a problem......probably have to fold there......he will only have $2 more after pot size bet, so not much more to make if you hit....I would prefer the anti-Heflin move of pot size betting with the wrap on the turn giving yourself fold equity with 2 cards to hit the wrap.
Hand 3: you could be drawing dead, so I fold here

bd1 - this is mainly due to low $ level i think. if he hits his open-ended on the turn, he wins a nice pot (since was pretty easy to put you on aa or kk). you had outs after the turn if you needed them (which you didnt), so as you mention, turn bet was better.

bd2- horrible call by villian, nothing you can do. played it well.

bd3- you just had mid-pair on the flop. deserved to lose. ;)

h1- have to be careful with those 2 pair on the flop, but would prefer a bet to thin the crowd. Value bet of half the pot on the river. The others were drawing with 89/56 or clubs, so only expect an overpair/lower set to call (maybe). you're only dodging qq.

h2 - your outs shrunk to 9, easy fold. would expect rruu to have KJ, fd+sd, or AKd.

h3- i'm not very excited about playing that hand - basically only a suited A - if you hit a set it will be the bottom set - and tough to make a good str8 (only A25 really).

I'd fold preflop, and if played, would also fold the flop. Not good risk/reward here (villians will have A6, 66, club draw, str8 draw).

Rodney, drawing dead on Hand 3? Even if the villain has AA, Danny has TWO backdoor quad draws! TWO!! Plus, he has the villain's quad blocker! LOL
