This is the session that could have been great, but instead was largely depressing. And before you say you hate to hear bad-beat stories, I challenge you not to get some small bit of pleasure thinking about me sitting at my computer, my face turning red, my neck veins bulging, my eyes wide and pupils dilated, halfway to a seizure trying to not scream until my throat bleeds.

I loved it. The audacity/stupidity of the play, the delight in seeing A5o turned up. When the 2 hit, I shrugged, it was only one bad beat after all. And I was still sitting at a table with a buffoon with a big stack.

Called 13.50 to win 34, getting 2.5-1, thinking an A might be good. Opponent's likely range is JJ-AA, AJ, KJ, and a lot of other junk.

It's starting to burn, my brain is starting to turn into mush, I'm playing more and more hands. And then this falls into my lap...

Flopped straights never win. At 67% to win, this was smallest edge I had out of the 3 hands that I got sucked out on. But it was the 3rd in succession, which pushed me over the edge. Fortunately, I respected 2009 Vague Resolution 2 by immediately shutting down my session after this hand.
And now, to ensure that this isn't solely a whine post... I only ended up booking a $35 loss for the session, as I found a total donkey to fleece. I caught him on three separate huge hands....
This first one is really standard...the SuperDonk is the BB. UTG is a bonus donk for this hand.

Nothing too interesting here either...standard aggression with a draw that comes in on the end. Note what SuperDonk does with bottom pair when my flush hits on the river.

I call the flop with 2nd pair which may be good, turn a set, and then OverBet For Value (OBFV) on the river. When he calls, I'm expecting AQ, AK, KQ, KK....anything better than A8.
Here's to a great weekend, an end to the bad beats, and a SuperDonk at all of your poker tables.
